Study of Philatelic Forgeries of Iran
Forgeries of Meched Provisionals
A forgery of the One Shahi stamp
Only second to the Lion issues, the Meched issue is among the most forged stamps. Various types of these forgeries exist which with knowledge of the original stamps one can distinguish them. Most forgeries are found on meshed paper, however this is not a general rule since genuine stamps also exist on the meshed paper as well. We need to have a more detailed look at the stamps and forgeries of this issue and hoping to update this page gradually.
